Body of missing 6-year-old recovered in Huron River
The body of 6-year-old who went missing on a fishing trip in Michigan with his father in late March has been recovered by authorities.
Jaxon Oaks and his father, Justin Oaks, went fishing in the Huron River on March 29. Police said the pair launched their boat from the Downriver Marina around 10:30 a.m. The last contact with Justin was at 12:35 p.m. via cell phone.
Concerned family members later contacted police, and the Oaks' camouflage boat was found days later, overturned in the Huron River.
On April 13, the body of Justin Oaks, 29, was discovered in the mouth of the Huron River near Lake Erie. On Friday, a relative still searching for Jaxon located a body in the Huron River and called Michigan State Police. The body was then positively identified as Jaxon Oaks.
