Multiple buildings charred in Findlay house fire
FINDLAY, Ohio (WTVG) - A house fire in Findlay Saturday sent a home and multiple other buildings up in flames.
The call came in around 2 p.m. on Northtowne Drive. A home, a barn and a garage were all destroyed. Neighboring buildings suffered exterior damage from the heat. Firefighters say seven total buildings were involved.
The homeowner tells Action News she looked out her window and saw the barn on fire. They got to it in time to get motorcycles and gas cans out before the fire engulfed the building.
She said this afternoon that two dogs made it out safely but they were still looking for a cat.
“We’ve lived in the house since April 14,” the homeowner said, who asked not to be identified. “We just moved in. We just got it set up and ready to go. Now we’ve got to start over.”
Officials say there were no injuries to firefighters or residents.
Multiple fire departments responded to the scene. The battalion chief said they had limited access to the road because of how many people stopped to watch the fire. Thick, black smoke was visible for miles.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
