Man charged for vandalizing sheriff’s vehicles at Toledo airport
TOLEDO, Ohio (WTVG) - The Lucas County Sheriff’s Office has charged Toledo man for vandalizing 27 of their patrol vehicles and two trailers at the Eugene F. Kranz Toledo Express Airport in May.
William Z. Pepple was charged in Maumee Municipal Court on counts of vandalism government entity and disrupting public service, both fourth-degree felonies. His bond was set at own recognizance, and he was ordered to have no contact with the Lucas County Sheriff’s Office, except with an attorney present.
Authorities accuse Pepple of vandalizing the vehicles by knocked off outside mirrors and breaking windshield wipers. They released images taken from surveillance video of a man riding a one-wheeled electric hoverboard in the area.
The case will be presented to the Lucas County Grand Jury and a multiple count indictment is expected, according to a press release from the Sheriff’s Office.
His case is due back in municipal court on June 15.
