Clay speedster Jordan Pettaway sprints to success
TOLEDO, Ohio (WTVG) - A dual sport athlete for the Clay Eagles, Jordan Pettaway continues to collect accolades in both track and football.
“He’s pretty humble. He comes out and does what he needs to do...promotes his teammates, helps them out. He’s just a good all around kid and great to have on the team,” mentioned Head Coach Brent Combs
Pettaway’s hard work throughout the fall has only helped his time on the track as the two go hand in hand.
“Ever since I started in eighth grade, I just started liking track more. Football tagged along with it and it started making me better at football. I think it helps with acceleration and deceleration, explosiveness most of all, everything really,” said the junior.
The speedster holds the program record in the 100-meter dash with a time of 10.85, tying for seventh in the state.
