HOLLAND, Ohio (WTVG) - Students were temporarily moved from Springfield High School after routine maintenance on the roof ignited a small fire on Monday morning. And now, classes have been canceled after 10 a.m.

According to officials, the students were moved for precautionary reasons. The fire was quickly brought under control.

As of 9:30 a.m., students were still in the football stadium as the school awaited guidance from the Springfield Township Fire Department and Columbia Gas.

Student drivers were released at 10 a.m. Students transported by the district will board buses at 10:15 a.m. Parents wishing to pick up students may use the high school main front entrance. Students will only be released to those listed on Emergency Cards.
